Radio Birdman theme on A Mixed Bag with Chris B

Tonight's theme on A Mixed Bag with Chris B on 93.7 Edge FM was Radio Birdman and associated bands.  It was pretty loud, wild music this evening with music from The New Order, New Race, The Visitors, The Hitmen, The New Christs, and of course, Radio Birdman.

The playlist included:
  • Rock n' Roll Soldiers - The New Order
  • Burn my Eye - Radio Birdman
  • Haunted Road - New Race
  • Crying Sun - New Race
  • Aloha Steve and Danno - Radio Birdman
  • Shake Some Action - The Flaming Groovies
  • Shake Some Action - The Hitmen
  • Suspicious Minds - The Hitmen
  • I'm Stranded - The Saints
  • New Race - Radio Birdman
  • The New Christ's - Ghostlike
  • 1970 - The Stooges
  • Louie Louie - The Hitmen
  • Man with Golden Helmet - Radio Birdman
  • The Visitors -
  • TV Eye - The Stooges
Just for some relief from all that heavy music, we took a little bit of time out to listen to the latest Lloyd Spiegel album, so we heard just a few tracks from that.  He kind of yinned the yang!
Next week on A Mixed Bag with Chris B on 93.7 Edge FM we are going with a themeless theme - that's right!  No theme next week, just a mixed bag of music.

Goodbye theme on A Mixed Bag with Chris B, and talking about The Compassionate Friends

Last night on "A Mixed Bag with Chris B" on 93.7 Edge FM, our theme was "Goodbye".  We heard songs with the word "Goodbye" in the title, or songs about leaving, running away, or saying goodbye.

When a family member passes, it is a time of pain and grief , but having to say Goodbye to your child must be the most difficult Goodbye of all.

There is an organisation called The Compassionate Friends which began in 1979.  The organisation provides hope, love and support, offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents after the death of their child or children.

Here is a link to The Compassionate Friends website:-

Sue Whyman from the Bega Chapter of The Compassionate Friends was kind enough to grant an interview, and provided advice on helpful words we can say to someone who has lost a child.  If you wish to contact the Bega chapter of The Compassionate Friends, you can ring Sue on 02 6492 1420 or Janice on 02 6492 1359.
