Red Apple Day and Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

Tonight on A Mixed Bag with Chris B, our theme was Apples because Wednesday, 17 June 2015 is Red Apple Day, and June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month.  We played lots of songs with the word "Apple" in the title, and explored the topic of bowel cancer.

Below is a link to an interview with Tammy Farrell from Bowel Cancer Australia.  Tammy provided some great information about how we can improve our diet to reduce the risk of bowel cancer, what signs and symptoms to look out for, and detailed the stages of bowel cancer.

Scroll down a little further and you will find links to the Bowel Cancer Australia website.

On Thursday 18 June 2015 there will be experts in the office of Bowel Cancer Australia including two general nurses, a colorectal cancer nurse, a stomal therapist, a nutritionist, a gastroenterologist and a colorectal surgeon.  To speak with any of these specialists on Thursday, you can phone Bowel Cancer Australia on 1800 555 494.  Of course if you do have any health concerns the best place to start is a visit to your GP.
