September theme

Tonight on A Mixed Bag with Chris B, our theme was "September", and that was for two reasons, one being that we  are in the month of September, and two because I am participating in "Steptember", a fundraiser for Cerebral Palsy.  As part of a team, I am doing 10,000 steps per day, and asking for donations to help raise money that will assist people with Cerebral Palsy by providing valuable equipment, therapy and services to children and adults living with cerebral palsy, or to raise funds for research into the prevention of CP, and maybe one day a cure.

Below is a link to my donation page:-

Tonight I replayed part of an interview with the wonderful Andrew Hewitt.  He is a "can-do" musician with Cerebral Palsy, and Australia's most inspirational drummer.  He is an inspiration to us all, and if you would like to listen to the interview, please click on the link below:-

Our playlist tonight for our September theme included the following songs:-

  • September Grass - James Taylor
  • September Morning - Neil Diamond
  • The September of My Years - Frank Sinatra
  • September - Earth, Wind and Fire
  • Sweet September Morning - Buffy Sainte-Marie
  • September When I First Met You - Barry White
  • Try to Remember - Harry Belafonte
  • September When It Comes - Rosanne Cash & Johnny Cash
  • Wake Me Up When September Ends - Greenday
  • Pale September - Fiona Apple
  • It Might As Well Rain Until September - Carole King
  • September In the Rain - Dinah Washington
  • Songs from Bruce Springsteen's Album - The Rising

On a completely different subject, don't forget, if you are suffering from anxiety, there is a free anxiety support group who meet at Club Bega on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month (excluding December & January).  For more information, you can call Rachel on 9339 6013.

Most of our songs tonight were pretty chilled and laid back, so next week, we are going to explore the musical genre of funk music, so get ready to dance in your lounge rooms!!  Join me between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm next Tuesday night if you live in the Bega Valley on 93.7 Edge FM.

No Mixed Bag with Chris B on 93.7 Edge FM tonight

Hello if you are a loyal listener to the show!

After a wonderful trip to Sydney to attend my niece's wedding and attending a concert of my favourite opera singer, Renee Fleming, I seemed to have come down with the dreaded lurgy, so instead of presenting "A Mixed Bag with Chris B" tonight, I will be "rugging up" with warm clothes and sitting by the fire drinking herbal tea with lemon and honey!!

A Mixed Bag with Chris B will return on Tuesday 15 September @ 6.00 pm on 93.7 Edge FM in the Bega Valley.  I will let you know closer to the time what our theme will be then.

Here's a link to the Edge FM website, where you can fill in our online survey, and tell us what you want from your local community radio station:-

Talk to you on air in a few weeks time.
